Tabitha White, a 20+ year employee of Sunnyside Communities reflects on her journey – “I started as a CNA at Sunnyside, and then became a med tech, and then pursued my LPN degree. Sunnyside has been a company that is capable of providing a step up [for employees]- There are opportunities to advance.” While Tabitha didn’t know when she first started that she would like to become an LPN, the support of her peers and mentors encouraged her to shoot for the stars.
As a member of our nursing team, you can enjoy the experience of improving the quality of life for our residents through our person-directed living approach. “I had a resident on his 100th birthday, and I got to be the first person to go into his room and wish him a happy 100th birthday, and give him a big birthday hug. Those kinds of moments mean a lot to the staff here at Sunnyside,” White recalled when asked about one of her favorite resident memories. Our employees aren’t just staff members – they are part our residents’ families, and the relationships built are meaninge to both parties. “We’re able to meet their needs, and go above their needs.”
