Sunnyside will host its 24th Annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day Health Fair on Wednesday, May 27 at the Broaddus Vitality Center, with the event open to the public beginning at 2:30 p.m. The full event will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Held in celebration of National Senior Health and Fitness Day, this annual event brings together a wide range of local organizations dedicated to supporting health, wellness, and active aging. The fair is designed to connect community members with valuable resources, services, and educational opportunities in a welcoming and engaging environment.
This year’s event will feature both new and returning participants. New organizations include Meadowcrest Audiology, Friendly City Food Co-op, Sole Focus Running, and Hearing at Home. Returning partners include Massanutten Dental Team, ASFA Plastic Surgery, Rockingham County Fire and Rescue, Sentara RMH Safe at Home, and VPAS, among others.
In addition to vendor booths and wellness resources, attendees will have access to special offerings, including a drug take back initiative organized by the Sunnyside Clinic, as well as skin checks provided by Dr. Asfa.
“We are proud to host this event each year as part of our commitment to whole person wellness,” said Annie Shaffer, Director of Wellness at Sunnyside. “The Health Fair is an opportunity for the broader community to engage with trusted providers and take proactive steps toward their health.”
The event is free and open to the public.
