Sunnyside Communities has been recognized in Virginia Living magazine’s Best of Virginia 2025 reader survey, with two of its Life Plan Communities earning top honors in their respective regions.
King’s Grant in Martinsville was voted first place in the Retirement Living category for Southwest Virginia. Sunnyside in Harrisonburg received second place in the same category for the Shenandoah Valley.
The annual awards, based on thousands of votes from readers across the Commonwealth, highlight standout businesses and organizations in categories ranging from dining and travel to health care and senior living.

Sunnyside Communities operates three Life Plan Communities in Virginia: Sunnyside in Harrisonburg, King’s Grant in Martinsville, and Summit Square in Waynesboro. The organization emphasizes hospitality, service, and well-being through person-centered living, wellness programs, cultural events, and individualized care.
