This week, residents and team members at Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg swapped summer sandals for Santa hats as they gathered for a festive Christmas in July Vendor Fair.
Held Wednesday, July 23 in the Bethesda Theater, the event brought together more than a dozen local vendors offering handmade crafts, jewelry, specialty foods, seasonal gifts and more. The fair transformed the theater into a cheerful marketplace.
For many residents, the event was more than a shopping opportunity—it was a way to connect with the greater community and support a good cause. Proceeds from vendor registrations benefited Sunnyside’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s team, adding a layer of purpose to the festivities.
Staff volunteers helped coordinate the event and assist residents with their purchases, while vendors shared stories behind their products and enjoyed the chance to engage with the community. Some vendors had such a great time, they’ve already asked to return next year.
