King’s Grant is proud to host A Dementia Friendsgiving in partnership with Dementia Friendly America (DFA)—a joyful celebration of community, gratitude, and progress within the dementia-friendly movement.

This “pizza party”-style gathering will bring together residents, care partners, and advocates from across the region to honor how far the movement has come and to look ahead at what’s next for dementia-friendly communities. Guests will have the opportunity to connect, learn, and share stories of impact throughout the day.

The event will feature an online presentation including:

  • Keynote Speaker: Teepa Snow, internationally recognized dementia care specialist, educator, and advocate known for her compassionate and practical approach to supporting those living with dementia.

  • Dementia Friendly Showcase: Panels exploring how to start or strengthen dementia-friendly communities, Dementia Friends programs, Memory Cafes, and Giving Voice choirs.

  • “Pizza Party Potluck” Celebration: A chance to share what’s meaningful to you and celebrate together.

  • Lived Experience Panel: Hear directly from individuals living with dementia and care partners about what makes a community truly dementia friendly.

  • What’s Happening and What’s Next: Updates on the state of the movement and the future of DFA.

  • Awards Ceremony: Recognizing DFA communities, Memory Cafes, Dementia Friends Champions, and movement leaders for their contributions.

Whether you’re already part of the movement or just beginning to learn, this event offers an inspiring way to become involved. Newcomers are invited to become a Dementia Friend and discover how to make their own communities more inclusive and supportive.

Join us as we celebrate friendship, connection, and the shared commitment to making our communities dementia friendly—one small act of understanding at a time.
