Sunnyside’s Life Enrichment team had the pleasure of welcoming fellow Activity Professionals from VMRC, BRCC Old Ridge, and Dogwood for a day of connection, conversation, and idea sharing at Sunnyside.

The visit was part of a Central District Activity Professionals gathering and offered guests a chance to spend time inside the Highlands Building, exploring spaces designed to support wellness, creativity, and everyday joy. From the moment everyone arrived, the energy felt collaborative and curious, the kind of atmosphere that naturally sparks good questions and even better ideas.

The morning included a tour of Cobb’s Corner, where visitors explored Alice’s Closet Shop and Alice’s Cupboard, followed by time in the Vitality Center. Guests had the opportunity to see our pickleball space, interactive fitness technology, and other wellness offerings in action. These moments opened the door to thoughtful conversations about resident engagement, adaptability, and how spaces can support physical, social, and cognitive well being all at once.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day happened away from the tour stops. Activity professionals shared calendars, compared programming approaches, and talked honestly about what is working, what is evolving, and what they are still figuring out. The day wrapped up with lunch and plenty of time to connect, laugh, and continue conversations that started earlier in the morning.

We are grateful for the chance to host such a thoughtful group and to learn alongside colleagues who care deeply about this work. Collaboration like this strengthens all of us and reminds us how powerful it can be when Activity Professionals come together to share knowledge, encouragement, and inspiration.
