Sunnyside Retirement Community recently welcomed a group of students from James Madison University’s Social Work and Gerontology program for a special evening of intergenerational connection.
The students and residents first gathered for a lively game night, sharing laughter and building camaraderie across the tables. Following the games, residents participated in a panel-style discussion, answering questions prepared by the students.
Questions ranged from reflections on life’s happiest memories, to advice for finding the right partner in marriage, to guidance for students preparing to launch their professional careers.
The evening highlighted the strong bonds that can form between generations through simple conversations, shared stories, and mutual respect. Sunnyside looks forward to continuing to create opportunities for meaningful engagement with the broader community.
