At Sunnyside Communities, we believe kindness is the foundation of a strong community. That’s why, in honor of National Good Samaritan Day, we reached out across all three of our campuses—Sunnyside, King’s Grant, and Summit Square—to find someone who truly embodies the spirit of going above and beyond for others.
One name stood out: Bit Pressley, a valued member of the Life Enrichment & Transportation Department at Summit Square.
Bit’s nomination was filled with high praise, and it’s easy to see why:
“I cannot count the number of times I see him go above and beyond in every aspect of his job. He is ALWAYS joyful, ALWAYS considerate, and ALWAYS goes the extra mile. I had a tour come in today, and he already had their coffee made by the time I got upfront. He genuinely cares about the well-being of our residents and other team members. I have heard from doctors’ offices and hospital concierges how we have the best driver of any community around!”
Bit’s dedication to his work and his compassionate spirit make him a shining example of what it means to be a Good Samaritan. Whether it’s greeting residents with a warm smile, assisting with transportation needs, or simply offering an extra hand, he consistently goes the extra mile to ensure that those around him feel cared for and supported.
The Spirit of Giving: How Good Samaritan Day Connects to the Fellowship Fund
Good Samaritan Day is about recognizing acts of kindness, but it’s also a reminder of the importance of helping others when they need it most. At Sunnyside Communities, this same philosophy is at the heart of our Fellowship Fund—a fund that exists solely to support residents who experience unexpected financial hardship.
Because of generous donors and a community that believes in taking care of one another, residents who might otherwise face uncertainty can continue to call Sunnyside, King’s Grant, or Summit Square home. Just like Bit’s selfless actions, the Fellowship Fund is a reflection of the kindness and compassion that make our communities so special.

Today, we celebrate Bit Pressley and every team member, resident, and donor who lives out the Good Samaritan spirit every day. Sunnyside Communities is more than a place to live and work—it’s a place where kindness, generosity, and care are at the heart of everything we do.
