The Sunnyside Art Gala once again filled the room with color, creativity, and camaraderie as residents gathered to celebrate the wide-ranging talents of their neighbors. From intricately painted rocks and hand-stitched quilts to delicately carved wooden sculptures and vibrant paintings, the event highlighted the joy that comes from creating and sharing art together.
The Artist Group, led by Judith Anderson, and Sunny Treasures, chaired by Mary Jane Kirkland, coordinated the event with help from a dedicated team of volunteers. Guests mingled and admired the displays while enjoying refreshments beautifully arranged with flowers designed by Barb and her team—a fitting touch for an afternoon celebrating beauty and craftsmanship.
Each table told its own story. One featured The Joy of Rocks, a colorful collection of hand-painted stones by Diane Hanson. Another displayed finely crafted wooden bowls and sculptures that captured the organic beauty of the medium. Quilts, paintings, and hand-decorated boxes—like those lovingly created by the late Rebecca Grow—reflected the heart and history behind each artist’s work.
The Art Gala not only showcased the incredible talent within Sunnyside but also celebrated the friendships and shared inspiration that thrive across the community. Residents and guests alike left with full hearts—and perhaps a bit of creative spark to carry into their own days.
