When Izzy Arroyo-Moyet first started her job at Sunnyside, she wasn’t expecting to gain a second family. As she worked through the training process, and got to know the environment better, she knew that she was with people that were supportive of her in the workplace and beyond. Environmental Services is an essential team at Sunnyside that fosters a clean and safe environment for the residents to live in. “It’s a team effort, we all come together to support the residents”
Izzy started out as a housekeeper, but her supervisor quickly realized that she was up for more challenges, and was given the opportunity to advance to a floor tech. “A lot of people think that being a floor tech is just a cleaning job, but it’s not. It’s supporting the residents” Izzy stated when she was asked about the meaningful work she is able to do in her position.
When you have a leader that will stop what they are doing to help the team, in addition to a team that works together to make sure that the best quality service is being provided, it creates the perfect environment for loving your work as Izzy shares in her story.
