Sunnyside Communities, a full-service not-for-profit continuing care retirement community in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is currently recruiting for an Executive Director to lead and manage their King’s Grant Retirement Community campus in Martinsville, Virginia.

Established in 1912, Sunnyside Communities is a well-managed and respected retirement community with three campuses located in Harrisonburg, Waynesboro and Martinsville, Virginia. Its mission is: “To add life to years by offering retirement living choices that enhance the physical, spiritual, social, psychological, and security needs of older adults in caring Christian communities.”

King’s Grant Retirement Community is a 210-unit continuing care retirement community located among the rolling foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and conveniently located between Roanoke, Virginia and Greensboro, North Carolina. The 120-acre campus, which became operational in 1993, offers its residents 148 independent living units, 30 assisted living units and 32 skilled nursing beds. The three levels of high quality care provide a variety of living arrangements and accommodate diverse lifestyles on a single campus. Located near many popular outdoor and cultural attractions such as Smith Mountain Lake, the Virginia Museum of Natural History and a renowned NASCAR venue, King’s Grant offers its residents a broad array of activities to help ensure an enriching life experience in retirement living.

The King’s Grant Retirement Community Executive Director will be a relationship-oriented leader and manager with at least five (5) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a continuing care retirement community, hospital, or other similar environment within the health care industry. He/she will possess a Virginia Nursing Home Administrator’s license and have substantive management responsibility over the day-to-day operations of King’s Grant. The ideal candidate will be expected build on the strong reputation of Sunnyside Communities and have a strong track record in delivering exceptional customer service, high quality programs, and strong financial performance as well as an acumen for engaging resident and motivating employees in a team environment. A Bachelor’s degree in hospital administration, business administration, or nursing administration is required.
