Enthusiastic Students of Life

Our residents are enthusiastic students of life and appreciate opportunities to expand their knowledge on many subjects. That’s why King’s Grant offers continuing programs for life long learning.

Residents regularly take advantage of educational programs at nearby Patrick Henry Community College and New College Institute. PHCC is a fully accredited, public, comprehensive two-year college serving about 3,000 students each semester from Martinsville, Henry Co., Patrick Co., and the southern portion Franklin Co.

Over its 40-year history, the college has served more than 30,000 residents in their quest to improve skills, increase knowledge, and become productive community members. The college offers a wide range of academic, vocational, technical and workforce development courses that includes more than 60 fields of study.

New College Institute is a state-funded educational entity that provides access to bachelor’s degree completion programs, master’s degrees, teacher endorsement programs, teacher recertification courses, and more through partnerships with colleges and universities such as Averett University, Old Dominion University, James Madison University and Radford University.

King’s Grant also hosts on-campus guest lectures, cooking classes, wine pairings and tastings and seminars on the latest technology.
