BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibilities of the Chaplain are to provide leadership and oversight for overall ministry, deliver pastoral care, worship services, advice and support to residents and their families as well as employees while supporting the mission of the community. The Chaplain will develop strategies to encompass projects and comprehensive programs to carry out the ministry while meeting the spiritual and emotional needs of residents. This position will maintain relationships with local churches and help to keep residents in touch with their church as needed.
  • Ordained by a mainline Christian denomination
  • Ecumenical perspective and ability to work well with people of all faiths
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and a seminary degree (M.Div.)
  • Minimum of five years of experience, with an emphasis and some experience in long-term care or CCRC setting preferred
  • Board certification by Professional Chaplains Association or int he process of obtaining certification
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required
  • Hospice or home health experience is a plus
  • Education in clinical pastoral education is a plus
SHIFT/HOURS: All work assignments and schedules are based on resident needs. Chapel requirements may be changed as needed. Weekend and holidays are part of the regular schedule.
